The Oregon Cannabis Industry needs to change NOW

Post Body

An overabundance of dispensaries and weed has cheapened just about every job in the industry here from management down to budtenders. A starting hourly position will be paid $14 - $15.50 on average. That may be well and good if the cost of living was low. However, the cost of living in Portland is skyrocketing and it's clear that businesses are dragging their feet on providing a comfortable wage. Hiring is a problem since budtenders are making minimum wage. Minimum wage minimum effort. This leaves a lot of work for managers who treat their positions like temporary stepping stones to something else. And who can blame them when the upper management doesn't care. They give ZERO respect to the sales and retail side of the business.

Sorry for the rant, but I've been in the cannabis industry for 9 years now. I've worked in California, Oregon, and the CBD market in Texas. I've seen a lot of ebbs and flows. But Oregon is by far the most disrespectful and degrading I've worked in so far.
