Do Cheng and Gutierrez change the plan on when to buy?

Cheng so far has put up better numbers at high a than endy did last year while being a middle infielder. Gutierrez, now at AA, is having a solid season with the bat, giving us yet another legitimate catching prospect. Should the pirates consider using their system's depth to get cost controlled starting pitching, or is this a year too soon? I personally am torn on this
