TL:DR; at the bottom
Announcement
Hey all,
Over the course of the pandemic, a lot of us have lost social connections (and in some cases, our ability to create them as well). Due to which, a couple of subreddits (bruinfriends and bruindating) came into existence as a “hey, someone should do this.” Over time, more and more have joined up and now we have over 1500 members combined and hopefully it will continue to grow as time passes.
So now that we are somewhat populated, it’s time to make some upgrades and make these subreddits a little more official. That’s why we have created BruinLink at UCLA - the official organization that will oversee the three Reddit communities created for UCLA students to make social connections.
You may have already heard/be a part of r/bruindating and r/bruinfriends. However, there’s a new subreddit in town: r/bruinnetwork.
r/bruinnetwork is specifically created to build professional connections and gain advice regarding higher education and careers. We hope to have a number of staff and faculty join to provide answers to your questions and provide advice. We would love for you all to join, as the more we have, the wider the range of knowledge.
What will change for you?
In short, nothing.
This subreddit will run as it always has. We ask that you follow our (very reasonable) rules and please post content that are strictly relevant to the subreddit. For example, please use r/bruinfriends for those of you who wish to find friends rather than professional relationships or romantic connections.
What will change for the subreddit?
That will be up to you.
The following link will have a small survey (approx 2-5 minutes) where you can provide feedback to our subreddit, voice concerns, or request potential changes.
Thank you for being part of our subreddit family! Stay Linked!
TL:DR;
We have merged r/bruinfriends, r/bruindating, and the brand new r/bruinnetwork (for professional connections and networking) under a single organization named BruinLink at UCLA. This changes nothing for you, but we would like the subreddits to seem a tad bit more official and draw more people, so we would like your feedback (2-5 minutes) Click Here to provide feedback.
