I’ve often wondered…what are typical male friendships like in other countries. I’m American and where I grew up men didn’t really show affection towards other men.

In TV shows/movies you used to always see the joke “he’s European” meaning European men were more affectionate (hugging and stuff like that) than American men.

I’ve also seen/heard stories about straight guys from the UK having intimate bromances (even to the point of wanking together on a regular basis).

Then again, I’ve heard stories of American men being very affectionate and intimate as well.

TLDR: I guess what I’m asking is…are men from European countries naturally more affectionate towards their male friends than in America?
