I’m actually concerned. I’ve been in a boot for 10 weeks from a severe sprain. At first ER doc was sure it was broken, but films showed otherwise.
Went to ortho, and he changed out soft cast for boot. 4 weeks no weight and gradually moved between knee scooter to cane to unassisted walking. No physio other than exercises he has given me.
He suggested surgery for ligament repair and I was ok with that, but today he explained that he’d be using a small plate with two screws to tighten my bones to help support my ankle and repair anything else at that time. Again, it was never broken. I was so shocked I listened and asked again if I would need physiotherapy after and he said he didn’t believe so.
Is this how it normally goes?
