Driving in BC in winter

Post Body

Hi all,

I’m going to be flying in to Calgary just after Christmas and need to get me and all my stuff to Castlegar. I was thinking of renting a uhaul, as it seems to be the only rental service which allows one way rental from Calgary to anywhere near castlegar. Is this a good idea or am I going to die an icy death on the wintery roads?

I have driven a truck in a city plenty of times and I have done a decent amount of driving in bad conditions in a car with winter tires (and snow chains when necessary), but I’ve never driven a van on wintery roads. Does anyone know if Uhauls come with winter tires?
