Hey all. My family and I are trying to plan a brief camping trip (2-3 days) on Vancouver Island as we haven't seen much of it and we're at a bit of a crossroads. I'm leaning towards the Gulf Islands because of the opportunities to see wildlife/variety of things to do whereas my partner prefers Tofino due to the proximity to civilization. He also thinks our kids (who are 9 and 12) are still too young to go the the Gulf Islands, whereas I think they'll be fine if they understand ahead of time that things may not be up to the standard of comfort that they are used to.

Some details about our trip that may be relevant...

We will be camping in tents.

We're fairly new to camping.

We all love wildlife and nature.

Since it will only be for a few days, we can pack in virtually everything we need so as to interact with the locals as little as possible.

We have never been to either area before.
