Hi all!
I am a bicycle mechanic and have been for the last 13 years now and I moved to Bristol about a year ago. Sometimes when I am cycling around and I look next to me to see a bike with the brakes unhooked because the wheels are wobbly is just heartbreaking and dangerous, and I am not sure if it's because repairs are too expensive here or people are not sure about the dangers this introduces?I have been in to a few bike workshops and they seem pretty packed right now and it's still Feb!
A bit of background on me, I have worked on almost every bike from the super high end to the frankenbikes, knowing the compatibility between mismatched components is a specialty of mine and I hate seeing the amount of bikes on our roads which are in desperate need of repair!
I still work in the industry but I really do need a second income and I am fishing around to see if there is any space for a service where I would collect your bike from you, give you a couple of quotes to choose from and then you let me know what you want to go ahead with if any with around a 48hr turnaround for service work...
Do you think theres room for a service like this or should I look elsewhere for the second income?
