2 week old baby not nursing as long anymore
Post Body

Posting for my wife who’s been nursing and loves to breastfeed. We just had our weigh in and the baby is now above her birthweight which is great.

That said, the past day or two she’s only been nursing about 6-8 minutes on one side and refusing to latch onto the other breast after switching sides. Instead of 20/min per breast it’s now like 10-15 minutes total and we aren’t sure what’s up. We are trying to keep her awake, changing the diaper before nursing, etc and still she seems to have a hard time nursing for the full duration. It’s not a milk supply issue either as my wife has been pumping plenty too and we have 4-5oz from a 10min pump.

Anyone else have experience with this? Is it just newborns being newborns?
