Anyone had to deal with this before?
I gave birth in early February. I flagged a new, irregular mole at an annual skin check in April. My doc gently suggested I get it shaved off. I said ok and she did it at that appointment. I just got in for my follow up yesterday. It's already repigmenting through the scar (bad) and it's early melanoma (double bad).
They said I will need to pump and dump maybe one session at most to be super safe from the topical anesthetic. I know I won't be able to nurse from that side for awhile, otherwise my baby will claw at the stitches. When I got the spot shaved off back in April, my baby clawed it more than once and reopened up the wound I thought was healed past the point that she could open it up.
It'll be an incision about 3 inches long, but I believe the incision will fall right outside of the pump flange.
My 6 month old baby is basically EBF. She takes formula fine, her last formula bottle was like a month ago. She also recently started solids, so that'll take some of the pressure off too.
My mom is concerned that they're removing so much tissue that pumping might hurt.
I'd love any suggestions, experience, thoughts or advice.
