Since birth I have pumped most of my 9 week old son's feeds and when he got persistent thrush we were encouraged to treat individually before trying to latch again. I was open to the fact that this might mean that we couldn't breastfeed anymore and I was accepting but sad. Today we got the all clear from the doctor and he drained both boobs and has fallen asleep milk drunk in my lap. I'm so happy and if anything his latch and suck are far more efficient now. A major win in our journey and I'm hoping we have a long way to go yet. I didn't want to lose this as an option for bonding, comfort and when pumping is difficult.
