I've donated a lot of milk, which means I got used to having a lot to donate. Well, my supply finally seems to be regulating at 6 months, so my donatable milk stash is very very low. I've let the receiving families know, but I can't help but think about this one sweet little NICU baby that needs milk! I do have a backup stash for my dude, but he doesn't take a bottle and seems satisfied at the breast.
My question is: How much milk should I save for my own baby in case of an emergency? Should I keep a days worth? Is it worth it while considering that my baby may never use it, but it could suppliments the NICU baby for 3 or 4 days?
