I had my DMX yesterday and honestly the pain and drains arenāt as terrible as I imagined! Pretty manageable actually.
Even though everythingās gone smoothly so far, Iām incredibly discouraged. The PS didnāt put any saline fill in my expanders during surgery as planned. When I look down, Iām hollow and itās freaking me out. I refuse to look under the bandages until I get a fill or absolutely have to.
The things is, I donāt know why they didnāt put any fill in. Iām not positive my surgeons are even around to ask since itās Saturday. A nurse told me it was āriskyā but I was so out of it, just waking up from anesthesia, so I never asked why it was risky.
Does anybody have an idea why it would be risky too add fill during the DMX surgery?
Thank you! Thatās something Iām trying to work on moreā¦patience. I tend to not let anything hold me back so reading this was good motivation to take it easy!
Prosthetic is a great idea while I wait for fills!
No way! How are you feeling? Pain and emotionally? The pain has been way more manageable than I expected, itās the emotional piece thatās getting me so far. Both could be partially related to pain meds š
No problem! Just know that even if you ask for a fill during the mastectomy and the PS says he can do it you might not get it. Sounds like itās mostly an in-surgery decision. Good luck on your surgery!! My experience right now (24 hours afterwards) is going far easier than expected in terms of pain and mobility!
lol so funny your toddler loved playing with them!
