I just got out of seeing my oncologist. I was diagnosed Sept 2021, DMX Oct 2021, Capsulectomy Dec 2021 and various other reconstruction and fat grafting since. I've had terrible nerve pain since the DMX and was originally prescribed Gabapentin then Lyrica after a bad episode.
Anyway, the pain has really revved up in the last month. Traveling from my shoulder, down the inside of my arm, to the outer chest wall and also to the elbow. I'm having difficulty lifting things with that arm and find myself having what I refer to as "electric shocks" down my back that make my body shudder when the pain is very bad. Though the shuddering lasts 2 to 3 seconds really. Told my plastic surgeon this and he wants me to have a nerve study done. My oncologist asked me if I was seeking drugs. I'm so frustrated because when I first met her I explained that I have addiction issues in my family and anxiety over taking anything so that hurt. Thankfully, my plastic surgeon has talked her into a joint referral to neurology which I was told can take 4 to 6 weeks for them to contact me. In the meantime, has this happened to anyone else? And if so, has anything relieved it? I'm so tired of washing a load of dishes and vacuuming my floor and not being able to do anything for the rest of the day from it.
