I started lurking around this subreddit after I had the mammogram and ultrasound of the tumour. The doctor at the ultrasound clinic said he was 99 percent sure and they would proceed treating it as cancer even if the biopsy came out negative for cancer. I had my first appointment with my oncologist and they told me that I have stage 2, grade 3, triple negative breast cancer. My chemotherapy doctor says this kind is rare in young women like me and is aggressive but responds well to chemo. (I do appreciate being called young! I am just 48.) I have to go for genetic testing now and my lumpectomy might be turning into a double mastectomy depending on the results. I start my chemo in two weeks, 24 weeks altogether.
I wanted to say thank you for making me feel like I’m not so alone. I’ll be coming back a lot more. Just seeing others writing about it makes me feel so much better.
