Hello all. This week has been rough (bad news every days this week regarding my treatment plan). Originally I was only supposed to have a lumpectomy. MRI results came in and the cancer has invaded my muscle resulting in a mastectomy on my left side.
There was an issue with my right side and due to not being able to find it to biopsy it (guess it's in the void where the nipple is and the Dr didn't feel confident in biospying it). This will now turn my original lumpectomy into a double mastectomy.
I'm angry, terrified and all the emotions in-between.
What advice does anyone have regarding coming to terms with having all options and choices taken away? What were the best products you found while recovering? What did you do to help with the healing process?
Any advice is greatly appreciated and helpful.
I'm unsure when the surgery will be but I will sure be taking notes.
