Hi everyone, today I was supposed to get my 12th infusion of Kadcyla. I had a heart check last week, and when I came in and said I had been very very tired lately, the onco said my heart function "was still within normal, but had weakened since last check", so I would stop Kadcyla treatment since it was a side effect. I asked 2x what she meant but she answered vaguely, and told me I was to start on exemestane right away (started zoladex 2 months ago and was told I would start tamoxifen in April). The appointment lasted all of 6 minutes, and she always does this (ie. not really answering my questions).
I'm confused and feel like I've been thrown in the deep end of the pool all of a sudden. Does heart function come back? Can you exercise back into a healthy heart? Why exemestane, not tamoxifen? I have called another cancer in my city for a second opinion and they'll call me back but meanwhile has anybody had experience with this? Pointers for what to ask the next doctor who hopefully will explain things to me in detail?
Thank you all! <3
