My kid got a scholarship

It's been an terrible, awful, no good, very bad month. Year in fact. I'm stressed to the max.
But I went to check the mail today and there was something from my son's school. Turns out he won a scholarship for his great academic performance this semester. He's in grade 8 and in all AP classes.
Of course I'm super proud. I went bragging to my family and friends. None had heard of a kid so young getting a scholarship. It sprinkled a little bit of happiness on my otherwise shitty, spiralling life.
