My 19 month old DD transitioned to a “big girl bed”, aka her crib with the side off, a couple months ago. She has always been a good nighttime sleeper, but naps were a struggle. After much tweaking of our routine she was finally in a place where she was napping from an hour and a half to two and a half hours every day. At 33 weeks pregnant, I’ve been trying to utilize that time for either nesting or napping.

Since Monday, her nap has dropped to 45 minutes, then 30, then 20. Today, I got less than 15.

I feel like I’ve tried everything - I’ve tweaked the time we put her down. I’ve made sure she’s well-fed and has her water bottle with her. I’ve rocked her, I’ve left her alone. I’ve sang to her, read her multiple stories. I’ve been silent. I’ve made sure to give her Tylenol because I’m thinking maybe it’s teething because I have probably eliminated everything else.

I try not to blame her, she’s obviously going through something and it’s frustrating beyond belief that I can’t seem to help her. But I’m losing my damn mind working essentially a 12 hour day with no real break and a tiny person constantly climbing on me, not to mention the one kicking me in the bladder from the inside. I just want an hour with no one touching me, is that too much to ask?!

I also want to drink an entire bottle of wine, but I’ll have to wait for that one.
