The last 4 years I've home-made his Hallowe'en costume- at least part of it. I've always worried that it was kind of lame- I'm a little crafty and resourceful, but I don't sew or anything. I'm always just winging it.
So this year he wanted to be a Saiyan from DragonBall. Through some miracle of cardboard, felt and glue I made the chestpiece for him to duct tape over his appropriately colored hoodie. It looked... okay. Not bad for something I wasn't convinced would work!
But his reaction was just so awesome. He was like IT'S SO PERFECT I LOVE IT. IT'S AMAZING MOM! MY FRIENDS ARE GONNA THINK IT'S SO COOL! Like I was NOT expecting that level of enthusiasm. He even wanted to take pictures! Then he reiterated how great it was and even said that I 'always make the greatest costumes'.
His appreciation totally made my day. I always worry he thinks his costumes are cheap and lame and he's just being a good sport, but apparently he really loves them.
