Feeing bad whenever my son is playing by himself

Post Body

I have a 5 year old son. I absolutely adore him, and so does the whole family. He is beyond spoiled with love and attention. So why is it whenever he’s just playing by himself I feel so bad? I KNOW it’s good for him to be able to entertain himself but man…I feel guilty. Someone convince me it’s not gonna kill him (or me) for him to play by himself. I’m pregnant with baby number two so he won’t be an only child for to much longer

Everyone needs to be bored! It’s when you develop skills, interested, hobbies.

I had twins first and then a single, and my boy has had an easier time transitioning into so many new things because he got to be bored and explore himself and his imagination. My girls struggled because they always had each other. They don’t know how to be bored. It’s SO hard with them at the preteen age and them never having learned to entertain and to know themselves.

He’s doing great. And so are you!
