Sony Bravia and Google home voice activation errors

Hi I am getting the following error when trying to use voice activation through the home mini speaker and my sony android tv XBR75X900F.

"Casting sling tv to android tv is still in development. Please download the sling tv app for android tv in the meantime"

I already have the sling tv android app installed on the tv and it works fine, version 6.27.1 and player version 5.4.12.273. I've tried unlinking sling, uninstalling and reinstalling sling on the TV, tried contacting sling support. No one seems to have a solution or seems to care. Any suggestions?
