Sony Bravia A75L - Newbie question

Post Body

Hey guys, I've recently pulled a trigger on finally getting a proper TV that doesnt cost <200$, and first ever OLED TV, getting Bravia A75L 65" and would like to ask some (probably) extremely basic questions, so any insight and patience is much appreciated!

I've gotten it together with PS5 so my regular use would be ~40% gaming 60% Movies/Shows with rarely some live sports. I've never calibrated TV in the past, so tried to find something that is considered to be "best settings" for 2 modes, Movies and Gaming.
As advised I used settings from https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/a75l-oled/settings#:~:text=There are a few settings, adjust these to your liking.
Currently I have the following:

- Game Mode:

Light sensor: OFF

Brightness: MAX

Contrast: 90

Gamma: 0

HDR tone mapping: Gradation preferred

Black equalizer: OFF // Peak luminance: High

Color Hue at 0 and Expert 2 temperature with Live color OFF

Sharpness 55 / Reality creation Manual with Resolution at 10 (default?) / Smooth gradation LOW

Motion Blur and Cinemotion - OFF

- "Movie" mode

Same settings with exception of Brightness of 22 / Reality creation Manual at 20 (default?) / Motionflow Custom with MIN smoothness and low clearness and Cinemotion High

  • HDR Version of this has Brightness at MAX

Would appreciate any input on whether these can be changed around for better quality. In terms of environment - its in the living room that doesnt get direct sunlight, and TV is used primarily in the evening/night.

Cheers!
