Hardware issue while fighting Belphegor

I'm trying to fight a level 80 Belphegor in my village but my game keeps locking up while I'm fighting against him. It's at random different parts and I've tried five times only to be beaten by the game closing and telling me there was an error and forcing my 3ds to restart. I've tried restarting my 3ds as well as turning down the speed of the battle just in case max speed was too fast for it and causing it to glitch. I've gone and fought other bosses but am still having an issue. Anyone know anything?
