What's New?
- GitHub card on homepage (as well as the badge in the top left menu button) allows users to see what's currently in development for the tool as well as what's publicly available
- [Image] The left column indicates changes made to the development version; the right column indicates changes made to the public version (i.e. what you can see when you go to the URL at the top of this post)
- This will auto update every 5 minutes at the earliest as you continue to use the tool
- Dictionary page is now available. From here, you can see most of the in game text data, including all the
MST_TEXT
stuff - Better Hitcount Viewer for unit BB/SBB/UBB [Image]
- See if a unit's burst is AOE/ST/RT, if it self sparks, as well as the damage distribution
- Supports extra attacks on units (thanks /u/Xerte)
- Buff Searching [Image]
- Search for units, items, LS, ES, and bursts based on buff IDs
Buff Searching: A Quick Guide
- Let's say I want to find all the units with mitigation (a.k.a. mitigators).
- Determine whether the buff I want is passive or active, then get the ID
- Passive buffs are from LS, ES, and items (and sometimes SP). These are always active unless nullified.
- Active buffs are from BB/SBB/UBB (And sometimes SP). These are turn based.
- To get the ID of the buff I want, I could either find a unit or item I know has the buff, or look into the buff selector directly
- At the time of writing, only one active buff (proc 5) and one passive buff are translated. In the future, more buffs will be translated and easily viewable in the buff selector.
- To look for an existing buff from a unit or item, simply search for that unit/item and look at the buff tables. Most buffs have value labels that help us find what we're looking for
- Once you know the IDs of the buffs, add them to the respective buff selector [Image]
- You can either type in the value or use the checkboxes
- Since the mitigation buff we want is active, we go to the active filter in the filter pane and add our buff ID there.
- You should be able to see a list of units with that buff now. You can repeat steps 1-3 to add other buffs to your search.
- Combine your buff searches with other filters to further narrow down your search. For example, here's a list of OE water units with mitigation. Unchecking the
UBB
option means that I'm more likely to find actual mitigators and not just units with a mitigation UBB (though, it's not perfect as Lofia is on this list and she's not a mitigator, but she has the buff present in SP option F for some reason) [Image] - For example, adding IDs 5 and 18 to your search would give you a list of units that have some ATK/DEF/REC/Crit rate buff and mitigation
- Combine your buff searches with other filters to further narrow down your search. For example, here's a list of OE water units with mitigation. Unchecking the
- Determine whether the buff I want is passive or active, then get the ID
- Now I want to find all the items with Damage over Time (DoT) mitigation (a.k.a. additional damage reduction) because I'm annoyed at Ultor's DoT in the latest FR. The steps would be similar
- If the buff I want is from an item, it's likely an active buff
- An exception is if it's something like Jeu'vrr's Warcry that adds a DoT buff to a unit's BB/SBB
- It's safe to assume that the DoT mitigation buff will be always active unless if a unit's spheres are disabled, so the buff I want is passive
- Since the DoT mitigation buff is untranslated at the time of writing, I'll have to find a sphere with my buff. Luckily, I know that Elaina's Timepiece has DoT reduction.
- Looking at the sphere, the only buff that would make sense in the list is buff ID 127 [Image]
- If you're still not sure which ID it is from your first item, try comparing the buff lists of two or more items that have your buff and look for common IDs; your buff will likely be in the list of common IDs
- Now, I add the ID 127 to the Passive Buff Selector [Image]
- Now I can see a list of items that have DoT reduction [Image]
- Steps 1 and 2 are interchangeable for finding the Buff ID and type
- Passive and Active (Proc) Buffs are the same across all units, items, bursts, LS, and ES
- If the buff I want is from an item, it's likely an active buff
- The buff filtering works as follows
- Given a set of IDs, the item/burst/LS/ES must have all IDs present in order to be shown in the result
- For units, given a set of IDs, the unit must have all the IDs present in any of LS/ES/BB/SBB/UBB/SP (depending on what you checked) in order to be shown in the result
Things to Come
A (not final) list of features planned for this tool:
- Buff translation
- Would replace the basic buff tables in the current version
Would also allow for searching based on buffsDone- Translate buffs for user-friendliness
- Squad building tools
- See buffs offered by each unit on your squad
- Dependent on buff translation
- Compare buffs to help decide which unit/item is a better fit for your squad
- Dependent on buff translation
- Spark Sim integration (Standalone version available here)
- Sprite animations for your squad
- No current plans for units with SAM animations (which is only the old GL units at the moment)
- See buffs offered by each unit on your squad
- Summoner data (maybe)
- Point Trackers for Arena and Colo
Note that I do not have any specific time frame for the aforementioned. eel free to suggest other features you'd like to see in this tool.
Poll
I have (at least) 2 choices I can make at this point. I can either
- continue my work in translating buffs, then move to the squad manager
- This will allow the squad manager to have more functionality when I get to it
- start on the squad manager next, but not have much functionality in regards to buff analysis; move on to buff translation once I can't develop the squad manager any further
- You will get the squad manager sooner, but it won't have any of the buff analysis features I have in mind
- Besides buff analysis, it'd (potentially) involve squad sharing functionality, unit animations (limited support), spark sim integration
- do something else. You can let me know in the comments
By the beginning of the day Monday (~7AM CST), I'll close the poll. I'd like you, the community, to let me know what you want next in the tool.
July 16 Edit: [Poll Results] Results are in! I'll be working on buff translations before moving onto the squad manager, based on your responses. Thank you for participating in the poll.
Other Notes/Acknowledgements
Special thanks to /u/Deathmax for the datamine, as well as everyone (especially those in my guild and the Reddit Coalition) who gave feedback to help improve the tool.
If you find any bugs, please let me know so I can fix them ASAP.
