Post Body

EDIT: I've gotten some questions about what if I don't have this unit, etc. I tried it out with a mono-Dark team (Beatrix/Nyami leads, Elza Savei Cardes Shion) which wasn't the strongest, and got 2,700,000 using UBB on only 5/10 stages. Find out who your strongest units are, make sure you get all the relevant buffs (spark, elements etc) and don't forget to target the weak element.

Also important: if you don't have the firepower to ensure a kill with your UBBs, in the turns leading to your UBB you can actually do some BBing or targeted normal attacks to chip their HP into the kill range. The enemies in this Rift are rather tanky so it's alright to hit them a little.

I've lurked the sub long enough, so decided it was time to contribute. As you may know, hitting 3,000,000 in the new Frontier Rift may be a bit challenging so here's a play-by-play of each stage and how to do it.

=== Scoring System ===

Multikill Bonuses: 25,000 per unit multi-killed (Total = 750,000 for multkill all stages)

Clear Bonus: 1,500,000

= 750,000 required to hit 3,000,000

As you can see, you only need 750k which is easily manageable if you UBB strategically, I UBB'ed all 10 battles (final score ~4.5mil) but it's likely you only need it for stages 4, 8, 10. I have included my individual stage scores below so you can UBB more if you don't make the 3mil cutoff.

=== Strategy ===

The cornerstone of this strategy is Beatrix. She will help you fill your BB gauges, OD gauges, and even packs a strong recast UBB.

You will also need a mitigator as they can hit hard. Cardes and Amus (fire girl) are great choices as they provide a DEF buff, burst healing, and cleanse status (which is very important).

The goal is to guard frontier until you can UBB, and you should only UBB on very precise turns - each stage is different.

The setup I used for Guard Frontier: Beatrix (BB) @1 -> 4 Guard -> Mitigator auto @6. My full squad:

  • Natalamé ( 1) - Sky Orb/Sage’s Mercy Heroic Bonds
  • Beatrix - Sky Orb/Daltisk Aeterno
  • Amus ( 2) - Diamond Key/Yggdrasil Aeterno
  • Blaze ( 2) - Heaven’s Edge/Ragnarok Combustion
  • Blaze ( 2) - Omniscient Blaster/Ka-rzn’s Combustion
  • Zeis (F) - Heaven’s Edge/Tempest Record of Smash

Leads: Natalamé/Zeis

Elemental Paradigm: 2

You can likely use any other squad you would use for FH guard frontier, just with an added mitigator Beatrix, just plan your UBB and enemy targeting respectively. My dark squad could get 2.7mil, even when Beatrix LS has no offense value.

UBB Orders

Natalamé UBB or Beatrix UBB (same order):

Amus 6 | Blaze 5

Beatrix 1 | Natalamé 2

Zeis 3 | Blaze

Why do we need to consider two UBBs? Because some stages are crit-damage immune, and Natalamé's UBB is better for raw damage on these stages. Read on below!

=== Stage-by-Stage ===

VERY IMPORTANT: Before you continue, note one thing: in this Frontier Rift, enemies take their turn before you! So e.g. if I write 'BB drain every 3 turns', they will do it before your 3rd, 6th, 9th... turn.

For all stages, I took the Item Set with the Fujin. So each round has 3 stages right? For the first two, I will Overdrive, use a defense potion flute, then normal attack to fill gauges. Be careful not to kill (esp. Ka-rzn's units), otherwise you will lose your Multikill points! The third stage, you can Overdrive and Fujin -> UBB whenever. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty easy.

Stage 1 - Dizzy/Millia (200k)

  • (Crit Immunity)
  • Nothing special on each turn
  • Natalamé UBB when you have filled Overdrive

Stage 2 - Ky/Sol (177k)

  • Every 2 turns: LS Lock Mitig(?)
  • Every 3 turns: Inflict Ailments
  • OD on 10, normal attack, UBB on 11
  • Beatrix UBB

Stage 3 - Ramlethal/Elphelt/Jack-O (223k)

  • Evasion, UBB damage immunity?
  • Every 4 turns: BB drain
  • Check Jack-O for evasion (she will actually dodge all your damage)
  • Beatrix UBB (Fujin)

Stage 4 - Baiken/Leo (340k)

  • Every 3 turns: BB drain
  • Some spark damage reduction (not significant)
  • Beatrix UBB (Turn 11)

Stage 5 - Johnny/May (257k)

  • Every 3 turns: BB drain
  • Every 4 turns: Inflict Ailments
  • Beatrix UBB (Turn 11)

Stage 6 - Leo/Dizzy/Sol/Millia (290k)

  • (Crit Immunity)
  • Has mitigation (unknown duration)
  • Natalamé UBB when mitigation is down (Fujin)

Stage 7 - Ramlethal/Jack-O/Ky (223k)

  • Evasion
  • Every 2 turns: LS Lock
  • Every 3 turns: Inflict Ailments
  • Turn 11 Beatrix UBB

Stage 8 - Baiken/Johnny/Elphelt (485k)

  • Every 3 turns: BB drain
  • Every 4 turns: Inflict Ailments
  • Turn 11 Beatrix UBB

Stage 9 - Leo/Millia/Ky/May (267k)

  • Every 2 turns: LS Lock
  • Every 3 turns: Inflict Ailments
  • Beatrix UBB (Fujin)

Stage 10 - Dizzy/Leo/Baiken/Elphelt/May (300k)

  • (Crit Immunity)
  • Every 3 turns: BB drain
  • Natalamé UBB (Fujin)

=== Unit Replacements ===

No Beatrix = use Beatrix friend. For Natalamé you can slot in a second recast unit to hit 100% recast with Beatrix UBB, likely you will lose a little damage but should still hit 3mil.

No Blaze = use any nuker unit you would normally use for FH

No Cardes/Amus? Use some mitigator that heals (Beatrix will actually die without mitigation), maybe can even use Elimo who doesn't attack, just try it out since the mitigator doesn't really deal the damage anyway.

Best of luck! It's probably simpler than it seems. I didn't try it out with weaker units yet but the same strategy should still apply.
