tl;dr it's a little better than OD fill rate buffs unless I'm heavily misinterpretting it (testing should catch that quickly)

JP got a new batch today, with a new mechanic included on the dark unit (Shion). The mechanic is a buff which increases the value of automatic OD fill that occurs at the end of each turn.

Apparently JP's wiki has somewhat misinterpreted the value as far as I can tell. Anyways, the data for it looks like this:

 "effect delay time(ms)/frame": "0.0/0",
 "target area": "aoe",
 "target type": "party",
 "unknown proc id": "113",
 "unknown proc param": "0,0,400,3,150"

Reading the unit's skill description, we can be fairly confident that the 3 is the buff duration, which leaves the 400 and 150. Typically, the last number on an unknown buff variable is the amount of frames before the buff icon appears on the squad. This leaves 400 as the value of the buff.

Now, the question is 400 what. Without absolute testing I'm not completely certain, but given that OD fill already typically works in multiples of 100, I expect it's simply 400 bonus OD fill. This effectively doubles the end of turn bonus (500->900), while the 800 on his UBB should be slightly under tripling it (500->1300).

Is it a signficant mechanic? Well, it's pretty similar to OD fill rate - the value doesn't scale as you use more UBB, and if the number really is just 400 it has similar value to an SP'd OD fill buff (30% OD fill rate is worth 360 OD fill per turn when using just SBB). I think burst OD fillers are preferable, but right now the only unit with this buff is one, so it's not really difficult.

Edit: Thanks to some testing by /u/Flamie_Speeddraw, the stuff I posted above is confirmed. The stuff below is just speculation that didn't prove true.

Now, there's some alternate possibilities which need to be tested, just in case. These seem unlikely because they'd make the buff more powerful than burst OD fill, however:

  • If the 400 is a % increase, the buff could be worth 1600 OD per turn instead
    • Beats 8% burst OD fill until 3rd UBB
  • If the 400 is applied per party member with the buff, it could be worth 2400 OD per turn
    • Beats 8% OD fill until 5th UBB

The sheer amount it'd beat those by in that scenario makes it seem unlikely, however.
