Since guilds have been officially announced, this is what we know from the data and experienced playing with guilds.

Official Guild Guide from Gumi

Cost to start a Guild: 150k Zel. Increases to 5 gems if you disband a guild and create a new one.

Guild names limited to 8 chars.

XP Earned during Raids (100XP), Arena (100XP) (This is no longer the case as of 1.5.0.2), Quests/Vortex/Trials (1% of XP gained). Anything that provides less than 100 XP will not yield any guild XP.

Research contributions are limited to a cap of 75k Zel/25k Karma every 4 hours, you may use 1 Gem to reset the cap.
