Ensa-Taya Technical Notes

Post Body
Just wanted to mention the stuff I've seen using her/reading her frame data.
Update: Ensa-Taya's buff timings have been fixed!
Gumi screwed up her buff timings on SBB and UBB. Her UBB doesn't really care because it damage caps so easily, but it's problematic for her SBB, as she's shorted out of around 12.5k damage whenever she uses it without her buffs active.@Gumi: Her damage on BB, SBB and UBB calculates on frame 1. Her damage buffs, with the exception of her ES Ailment ATK buff, calculate on frame 1 as well... after the main damage of the attacks.Because of how random target attacks work, for her BB only this only actually affects the first hit, and only if that hit would apply weaken or sickness, so at least that's not a huge issue.
- Her animation is about the same speed start to finish as Juno-Seto's. However, Ensa-Taya begins dealing damage a bit earlier, and finishes dealing damage a bit later. Her total animation time is around 0.2-0.3 seconds slower than an average unit, but most of the hits are at the end of it.
- With one exception: Ensa-Taya's BB begins dealing damage almost instantly, but it also lasts a lot longer than other units' animations, including a recent target of salt, Bonnie
- Total animation times:
- Normal Attacks: 2.783s unit animation
- BB: 2.5s BB cut-in, 3.366s unit animation
- SBB/UBB: 2.5s BB cut-in, 2.783s unit animation
- The hits on her BB are spaced with a 4 frame timing, so they don't match up well with spark blankets. However, because there's so many of them and because 3 frame and 4 frame timings overlap every 4/3 hits respectively, you'll always get some sparks from her BB against a spark blanket
- The hits on her SBB are spaced with an annoying 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 2 pattern which means she can only overlap with a spark blanket for 3 hits in a row, and sparked perfectly with a single spark blanket will still only spark 9 times.
- But if you use multiple spark blankets and time them badly with each other, they'll probably cover Ensa's hit pattern well between them as a consolation prize. Additionally, as long as the spark blanket's animation frames go around hers entirely, she'll always spark a minimum of 6 times with them
- The hits on her UBB are spaced with a perfect 3 frame timing, so you can perfect spark her against a spark blanket if you do things properly, but misstime it and she'll fail to spark with that unit at all
- Her BB doesn't break the damage cap after all. False alarm, sorry. It still reached the cap really easily - in fact, there's no reason to give her damage buffs if she's only going to use her BB.
- I was also able to damage-cap her SBB using just the resources available to me. Sky Harbinger Vorpal Chainblades dual Ensa leads Her SBB buffs got me there easily.
- Her UBB should always cap if you have any amount of HP% on her, too
- In fact, she's probably best off with spark damage stuff as a result of how easily you can cap her ATK
- Because of how random target attacks work, applying a buff to Ensa during her BB animation will buff the rest of her hits. This happens because RT attacks recalculate for every individual hit. Visible by firing off Shida during the animation.
- Her BB spams the ailment infliction animations throughout its hits, every time an ailment triggered. This actually caused a lot of lag for my device, playing with effects turned off doesn't disable them.
- Sickness has been fixed in global for those unaware - it now increases Elemental Weakness Damage to the sickened unit.
- It really helps her BB's damage output against Light units - damage ranges from 100k on normal units, to 150k on light units/with elements buff vs normal units, to 225k on light units inflicted with sickness
- Unfortunately EWD resistance applies to the bonus from Sickness too, so even though Grah spends a lot of time in his EX trial with Sickness on him, it doesn't boost our damage. Wonderful.
