Unit Analysis: Statuesque Aurelia

Post Body

Hi there. I'm a casual reddit lurker with some posts here and there, but today I want to try a Unit Analysis, so this will be my first one.

Note: This will be a short analysis.

Who is Statuesque Aurelia?

Aurelia is the light unit in the Soul Bound Saga Batch. She is primarily a healer, defence buffer, and a status nullifier.

Overview

Stats

Lord Stats:

HP ATK DEF REC
6,535 1,725 1,930 2,095

Imp Caps: HP 750 / ATK 300 / DEF 300 / REC 300

LS

Negates all status ailments, 20% boost to max Def and Rec for all Units & boost to HC and BC drop rate (20%)

  • Here is a decent leader skill. To compare I will be using Griel since Griel is the closest leader skill to Aurelia.

  • Griel has a 30% HP boost, where as Aurelia has a 20% DEF and REC boost. Who wins here? Depends on what you favor. If you are going for a more defensive oriented team or you have spheres on where health doesn't matter, Aurelia wins here. If health is an issue then Griel wins here.

  • Other than that, Aurelia wins in terms of leader skill. The BC/HC buff drop is greater on Aurelia (20% vs 10 %)

BB

Gradually recovers HP for 3 turns & all status ailments removed and negated for 3 turns (21 BC) [1800-2100 10% rec]

  • Here is a BB that might seem lackluster at first. Its a low cost, but no hit counts so no contribution to BB gen.

  • The Heal over time is decent, but to me it is just a topping for the Status nullification

  • Wait why have status null on a BB if its on the leader skill. This puts Aurelia in a position to be on a team that you may feel doesn't need a Status null leaderskill like Colt or Feeva, and still be able to take on some of the harder content like trials or GGC.

  • Important to note that it does REMOVE AND NEGATE for 3 turns, so you can start with it at the beginning of it fight if chosen. If you have a BB filler like Zelnite or Shida, you can use Aurelia BB first, and those BB fillers will make up for her no hit BB.

SBB

14 combo powerful Light attack on all enemies (450% 100 flat), greatly recovers HP (4000-4500 22.5% REC) & boosts Def relative to Rec for all allies (70%) (14 bc gen)

  • Here is bread and butter of her. An attacking SBB that heals, and boost DEF. So what's different about her from other Defense boosters like Elimo, Kanon, or Aaron?

  • The two differences is her DEF buff is based on REC and STACKS with other DEF buffers.

Pros and Cons Aurelia and Her Abilities

Pros

  • Her leader skill synergizes with her SBB. If you can manage to keep her SBB filled, she give units some massive DEF while STILL stacking with other Def buffers. She also gives a 20% increase in BC/HC. That's higher than Griel, which I remind you is a 7 star.

  • If you don't take her as leader, her BB is a nice status nullifier. Putting spheres on her like Drevas and Magic Ore/ Evil Shard can make sure that you never get a inflicted with a status.

  • Her SBB in itself is beautiful. Put her on a Colt team and if you can keep constant SBB, Colts 30% Rec buff becomes a Def buff to your entire team.

  • For those that aren't blessed with 7 star mitigators quite yet, Aurelia's SBB goes perfect with Shera and a Kanon. Since all are attacking SBBs if you have someone such as Feeva/Raaga leader/friend your DEF would be fine for certain boss fights.

Cons

  • Her stats are pretty low except on the HP side. This could be due to 6 star in a 7 star meta. She does have lower rec than a 6 star Elimo, but higher defense. She boast higher HP than Elimo, but everything else is AT LEAST 200 points lower.

  • Her BB is repetitive if you have her as leader. The HOT is a little on the underwhelming side.

  • Her SBB is only 14 hits, which can't be sparked with well on teams like Raaga/Rosetta.

Some things to think about

I want to point out an Oracle vs Anima arguments for this unit.

Anima has 7277 HP / 1897 REC

Oracle has 6238 HP / 2392 REC

Both have 1930 DEF

Aurelia's SBB would boost an Oracle's Def to 3604, and an Anima's DEF to 3258 (using REC x .7 DEF).

That's almost a 350 difference in DEF buffed based on REC. If you have an HP booster as your leader, would you consider this worth the loss in Health for Oracle vs. Anima? Or would you be like me and fully imp the Oracle?

Final Thoughts

  • People in JP keep mentioning how Defense is becoming a big thing in their current meta, so would Aurelia do decent in JP atm?

  • I think Aurelia goes perfect with a Colt Lead for the REC boost (a stealth defense boost), Feeva Lead (To keep constant SBB for constant heal and Def boost), and as a lead herself

  • I think Aurelia goes well on a team with Kanon and Edea's 7 star if you can keep SBB up all times. Edea Mitigation & Status Null Kanon Def buff Aurelia Def Buff would be really nice for a defensive team.

  • Aurelia also goes well with Aaron. Read a recent analysis that said Aaron's 80% DEF buff was lackluster compared to Elimo and Kanon. Well Aurelia gives Aaron that boost in Defense to make him feel like an Elimo. He also fills her BB up so if any status inflictions happen, Aurelia can save your Aaron.

  • Aurelia is getting a 7 star. Who knows when, but with the SBS getting 7 stars, I hope they give Aurelia mitigation. Giving her mitigation would make up for her low stats (7 star might still be lower than Elimo's by a little) and put her in direct competition with Elimo.

Would like tips on

  • Who to compare Aurelia with

  • What am I missing in terms of a Unit Analysis

  • What I am missing in terms of Aurelia

  • How accurate/ agreeable this Unit Analysis was
