Whenever you lurk around the subreddit or the IRC, how many times do you come across the questions What are imps for? or Is there a green frog?. Though many of us know the answer, there still seems to be a mass amount of us that still ask these familiar questions. Well this thread is here today to answer most, if not all, of these questions.

Imps

Imps aren't hard to distinguish, but if you have one it should look like one of these.

Since there are four different stats, the notion of 4 stat imps would make perfect sense. Each one, when fused, adds a permanent bonus to its corresponding stat. Therefore, choose wisely when using an imp as it is "nonrefundable".

Corresponding colors to stats are:
RED = 20 to attack stat
BLUE = 20 to defense stat
GREEN = 20 to recovery stat
YELLOW = 50 to HP stat

Unfortunately, there is a limit to how many of each imp you can place into a single unit. For the most part, this is the guideline for the limit of most units:
500 HP
200 ATK
200 DEF
200 REC
Depending on the unit, the actual amount of each imp placed varies. I haven't been able to come up with enough sources to fully confirm this so if anyone wants to prove me wrong here, do so.

Imps can either be won as stage prizes in the 30 Round Frontier Hunter (check here to see which stages), captured in the frog/imp dungeon event, prized in slots, or summoned from the Honor Summon Gate.

Imp limitations change upon evolution. - /u/colusseum101.

Burst Frogs

If you're among those that has a Global account full of maxed Douglas's, then you know the frustration of having to level BB and SBB.

Luckily, burst frogs were created for this very reason. A burst frog, when fused, guarantees 1 BB level. That's right, there was a reason behind these units besides for using in the arena as a beginner.

Some extra things to know are that burst frogs have a 100% success rate, so you never have to worry about the standard "will it work?" question that comes with the use of BB fodder. Also, it is possible to fuse 5 frogs at once for a full 5 levels of BB.

Burst frogs aren't just thrown around in JP, although they are very much easily obtainable. Make sure to use them wisely. Burst frogs can be found in the Honor summon gate, won in the 30 round Hunter Frontier, farmed in the imp/frog dungeons, or seen as a prize in slots.

Sphere Frog

Sphere frogs look similar to their first cousin Burst frogs, besides for the fact that they are blue and have... a double chin.

The function of Sphere frogs is revolutionary to the game's mechanics as it provides the possibility of more, maybe countless, ways to enhance the already creeping power of your units. The Sphere frog when fused, simply provides a second sphere slot.

The drawbacks to this are that spheres of the same type can not be used, each sphere has it's own type which can be distinguished by the little symbol next to the sphere name. Some sphere types are stats-up, resistance, and looting. Although it isn't possible to use a muramasa with a sacred jewel or a poison shiv with a demon rifle (possible weakness), Sphere frogs still provide a twist to the way Brave Frontier can be played.

Ever had that moment when you wanted to put a medulla gem on your Tree, but knew you needed a refined gem on it instead? With Sphere frogs, the use of both is possible. Don't underestimate the power of the Sphere frog.

Sphere Frogs can be located in slots, won as the last prizes of the 30 round Frontier Hunter, fought as a boss of the frog/imp dungeons, given along with 3 gems for ranking up in Raid Class, and honor summoned in the HS gate.

keep in mind that they're rare as fuck so pick wisely who you use it on. - /u/anubs.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. As always, I feel that my job is to inform those who just don't know. If you're thinking "Yeah, yeah. I already know this.", then please by all means spread this information on to the next person who asks about the topic. And if not, just link them here.
