SOLVED

Hi, after the last straw with FF screwing over me using dogpile as my metasearch engine I decided to give Brave a go. Downloaded and installed it but it's not working. Re-downloaded it (thinking it may have been corrupted on the journey) but nope, same Not Responding issue. Was fully uninstalled before second install attempt including Ccleaner wipes and reboot. (Kinda pissed it default installs into C drive with no option to install elsewhere but was willing to overlook that.) Both times after install and multiple attempts at initialising the browser all I get is a PC going mental under strain and an invisible box for Brave, or at best a blank white one with Brave (Not Responding) at the top.

I checked thru Task Manager and there were around 11 Brave.exe processes running. Went to Performance>Resource Monitor and there is only one (the biggest one as far as was RAM usage goes) not responding. Kill that one and they all die.

Brave has been given the tick (by me) for access thru my firewall and for running on my machine. Been through all the firewall and security logs to checks for denials or blocks for access and nope, all good. So no issues there.

It should work. I'm just hoping someone has had this issues before and knows what could be causing it, or just knows of the issues and has a solution.

If any more information is needed re my set-up/config (as I imagine there will be) please don't hesitate to ask - remember, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. So I'm happy to own the stupid answers bit lol
