So I have read a lot of fantasy, but I typically avoid series that aren't finished yet. One reason is because I tend to forget stuff in between books, and another is that sometimes a book can take a long time to be released.
So right now it looks like Warbreaker and Elantris are stand alone novels. However, I'm confused about Mistborn. There are three Mistborn novels and then the Wax and Wayne novels after that, but they aren't finished. So I wouldn't want to start Wax and Wayne till the entire series is done if they're really connected to the original Mistborns.
So my question is, how connected are the first three Mistborns and Wax and Wayne? Wikipedia says there are more Mistborn novels coming. Could I just read the first three Mistborn novels and then pick up the other ones a few years from now without needing to reread the original trilogy? I'm not sure if it's just one giant series or separate books. Thanks.
