Post Body

An increasing fraction of recent posts here are low-effort links to cover art, something that looks vaguely like a highstorm/the Shattered Plains/some other random thing, or someone's (usually-mediocre) fan work. As is well known, the natural tendency of any subreddit is to become entirely dominated by the type of permissible posts which require the least effort to engage with; for example, advice animals dominated /r/funny until they were banned, and /r/boardgames had to confine "Check Out My Collection" to a designated weekly thread to keep them from doing the same. The same thing is happening here.

I think for the times when they are appropriate, submitting a text post which links to the image and writing a sentence or two to accompany it is reasonable. And if you can't come up with a bare sentence to describe why you think this image is great and should be here, it shouldn't be here. This might make this subreddit drop significantly in volume and it's not prolific as it is, but I would rather this be a low-volume subreddit than be dominated by low-effort images and I doubt that's a rare opinion.
