Is it just me or is Elantris hard to get in to?

I’ve been working my way through the Cosmer and have already read all of Storm Light, Mistborne and Warbreaker. I started Elantris about 3 weeks ago and I have no motivation to read it. I don’t know if I just need a break and change things up that I am reading or if it’s just not that good. I had heard that I should read it first before The Sunlit Man. Is that true? Or can I skip it then go back to it latter?
