Craniotomy on 12 July
Post Body

Hi,

So I'm very nervous about my upcoming surgery on 12 July. I have to admit, part of me doesn't want to do it because I'm very afraid of the side effects (e.g. paralysis or loss of cognition).

I have a meningioma, grade still unknown (from the images two different doctors have told me two different things) but it is definitely too big to be fully removed, so they'll leave some in (which I find freaky) and monitor and possibly do radiotherapy later on.

A couple of questions:

  1. Has anyone had some tumour left in and NOT needed radiotherapy?
  2. How frequently have you been scanned if you were left with some tumour in?
  3. Anyone moved to a different country later on and was able to continue the monitoring under a different medical system?

Thanks in advance.
