advice needed for upcoming brain surgery
Post Body

I'm having a probable brain tumor removed in 3 weeks. I've never even stayed overnight in a hospital, let alone had my brain cut into. What to pack? What to expext? Things you wish you knew/ brought? I'll even take experiences with functional MRIs and neuro phsyc exams.

Here's the story: I lost my voice about 6 weeks ago, the ENT said it was a paralyzed vocal cord. CT scan, and MRI were done and no reason was found for my voice(not uncommon), but a brain lesion/tumor/blob was discovered incidentally. Suspected low grade glioma left frontal lobe. They are doubtful its a birth defect. Ive noticed no symtpoms so far, but I chose full brain surgery. I have many unknowns right now, but I have named it Abby, for my Abnormal brain MRI initial diagnosis🤪 They are calling it not that big(dunno what the comparison point is though) and believe they can take it all with the 1cm margin. They dont expext me to notice my missing brain either. I get a functional MRI next week, and they currently think I can be asleep for surgery. I'm glad it was found before it got massive, but considering my father in law died little over 2 years ago from GBM, everyone is on edge.
