I had a grade 2 Astrocytoma with a really good resection and it seems that I've got to make a choice on whether or not to get radiation.
I understand that there apparently isn't proof that radiation at this point would extend my life, but the first doctor I spoke with seemed to strongly recommend it as it supposedly improves some effects town the line.
That said, I spoke to a second doctor two days ago and while he mentioned it was a personal choice he seemed to strongly recommend against my getting radiation as I'm only 30 and work a seemingly mentally tasking job as a software developer.
For reference, I'm right handed and my tumor was in the back left of my head.
Both doctors reference that there may be a life long drop in short term memory. The first doctor referenced that speed of thought may be slow. The second doctor referenced that there may be issues with attention.
I'm struggling to decide how radiation would affect my day to day life as the significance of bad the drop off is seems to be in contention between the two doctors so far.
