Teeth shifting down or gums are?

Since getting braces I’ve noticed that my bottom teeth are shifting under my gums (see brackets)…I have bad flossing habits so idk if it is that…I have also been told that I have a gummy smile so but my bottom teeth weren’t like that…can working on my flossing habits help the gums move down?
