Hi all!
I have a steel tie on my bottom right canine to rotate it, and my ortho had placed a ligature over the steel tie at my last appointment. I didn't ask why. The ligature fell out at some point - I noticed it was gone this morning, but it could've happened at any point over the last few weeks. I use silver ligatures so they blend in, and even though I'm in the mirror flossing every day, I'm not looking THAT close.
Anyway. The steel tie is still in place and perfectly fine. Does anyone know why an ortho would place a normal elastic ligature over a steel tie, and whether I should make it a priority to get it put back on? Or am I okay waiting a few weeks til my next appointment?
