i'm wondering of any other dudes here have had similar experiences.
there's definitely some people who have a bias against BL content and believe there's inherent fetishism behind liking it, though its not prevalent enough that i run into those people on a common basis.
i'm a guy looking to date other guys (well find a bf but that aint working out) and recently connected with someone (another man) from a dating app who said my liking and watching BL was a "red flag" because, and i quote, "your idea of datinig is something a woman wrote"
?? i barely know what this means, but i suspect he probably also said it because i havent been with anyone yet. they said most gay men are going to have a "problem" with someone who watched BL and though i really dont care what anyone else thinks, im wondering if any other dudes here have ran into similar reactions while attempting to date or even socialize with other gay men? was the general reaction? surely gay men who watch BL cant be a huge minority
im going to continue consuming it regardless.. if the content is romantic and fulfilling a need i have, i really don't care the gender of the person behind it, ngl. it still represents my demographic anyway
anyway i blocked him but the comment has been irritating me ever since lol
thoughts?
