Music the boys introduced you to
Post Body

Hey everybody, was thinking today about the impact the boys have had on my music taste overall through their influence and recommendations.

Through Phoebe I heard The National who are now the band I listen to the most (according to Spotify lol) although The National have also collaborated with Julien and Lucy. I also heard The Replacements through Phoebe, who are one of my all time favourite bands but interestingly sound nothing like Phoebe. I would be remiss to not mention Christian Lee Hutson and Sloppy Jane, who are both friends with Phoebe and extremely talented in their own rights.

Through Julien I heard Joyce Manor, Touché Amoré and Fucked Up who all absolutely rule. I grew up on first gen punk and grunge but Julien’s roots in D.I.Y hardcore inspired me to give the genre another chance and I’m so glad I did

Lucy’s ongoing love of Yo La Tengo inspired me to check out the band and trust me, if you’re into Lucy you will love them too. Especially the songs where Georgia Hubley takes over on vocals.

Would love to hear ways in which being a fan has shaped your music taste :)
