Potentially odd question. Let me set the stage…
I have been searching for ultimate dessert bourbons. Stuff like OF 1910, Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel, Michter’s Sour Mash, etc. everything I’ve seen online has told me Woodford Double Oaked is that ultimate marshmallow yumminess I crave.
I have purchased a couple of Woodford DO bottles and have had similar results between them, and those results have been unspectacular. Sure there’s a bit of sugary, dessert-ey character to it, but I feel almost like this was over-sold a bit.
My question is…because the consensus seems to believe this is the dessert bourbon bomb to beat, am I just having bad luck with the bottles I am purchasing?
