how's everybody's hip flexibility? (-13degree wall)

started setting at the local gym and trying to get a feel of everybody's abilities has been interesting. Being 6'3 makes it a bit more fun to keep things in reach for short people while still keeping the over all challenge there, some moves certainly seem to be out of the realm for a lot of people that are very easy on my hips.

it's certainly a balancing act to try and find the sweet spot for those extreme range of motions but you are right that it does help grow those movement options as a climber. As the boss says, we are trying to sell a product at the end of the day so having the routes be enjoyable by the most people possible is the general goal but I do still want to challenge people in a physical way that may requires more than just strength.

we do have two other setters who help tweak the routes after the skeletons are set and tweaked a bit individually, so we do have a bit of a range for checking reaches with, I feel like my mistake with this route was underestimating our other setters hip flexibility as he was able to do the move without much trouble so we deemed it good, I've yet to see anyone do it as intended yet but a few other awkward methods for the start have come up.
It's certainly a learning experience to set outside of whats comfy for myself and finding the sweet spot for everyone to enjoy.
