Restarting and need advice

So my save is way too old for me to just jump back in and it wasn’t very far along so I’m gonna restart so I can see the story before I start ToTK.
My question is should I hard mainline it or should I take the time to bust out a bunch of shrines before I go off for the four beasts?
Also follow up question: stamina or hearts first??
