I met Annie (reddit username redacted, at her request) and we after lots of talking, we met up together. Conversation and photos (we both were physically attracted) led things.
She wore a long-sleeved dress; I wore a tailored shirt and pants. We both are COVID vaccinated.
Dinner conversations spanned politics (she is socially liberal and fiscally moderate; he's social-democratic), COVID, literature, and science.
The conversation and wine flowed easily. Throughout dinner, we realized that we weren't compatible -- physical attraction was palpable; but conversation elicited a disconnect in intellectual attraction.
Even still, we went to the Common, sat on a bench near the Bandstand, and felt our physical connection. However, we kissed very differently and differences in political views were enough to call things (this was known by the end of dinner; but we both were wanting kisses and touch).
It was a good dinner; good company; a good night -- but chemistry was not present. It was a successful date, but not one to be repeated.
