Post Body

I’m starting a new job next month that includes a huge increase in my annual salary to $150k.

I have to relocate and I’m not yet in a position to buy so I’ll be renting. My question is if I’m single and childless with about 50k student debt would $3700 a month be okay for a 2 bed 2 bath?* Is that affordable on this salary? Too much? I’m just freaking out that maybe my eyes were so wide at my new salary that I wasnt as conservative as I should’ve been when apt hunting.

*I help take care of my elderly mother and need the extra home for when she’s in town.

EDIT: 3700 not 3800 and it’s a single family unit in West Somerville.
