Looking to become a landlord

Post Body

Hello everyone,

As the title suggests, I'm looking to become a landlord in Boston. I own a condo near the Mattapan Library, a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit. I'm trying to figure out a realistic rent price. I'm a Boston native and want to avoid overcharging, but I also hope to earn a bit of profit.

I'd prefer to rent to someone with a school-aged child, an educator, a nurse, or possibly to a Section 8 tenant for the guaranteed income. This opportunity recently came up, and I'm considering it since I can stay rent-free with my partner, making this arrangement beneficial for me.

I'd love to hear advice or suggestions from both renters and current landlords. Pros and cons are welcome!

Thanks!
