Good morning!

Thank you to everyone who joined in the Coffee Debate and voted for our hot/cold picture posters. This was a spontaneous, quickly executed Community Challenge and still we had 21 BGWers post pictures with their preferred coffee type, and so many more who voted for their efforts!

Original Coffee Challenge post

So how did this event come about?

This event started as a playful picture-off between me, u/DaringWhimsy (DW), and u/Windfox6 (WF). I had posted a picture drinking iced coffee titled, “It’s never too cold for iced coffee! Or for flashing”, and the next day WF posted a hot coffee picture captioned “Not to join the debate, but there’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee on a rainy day”. She had thrown down the gauntlet, this could not stand without response! I decided to take another cheeky iced coffee picture and embedded it in the comments of WF’s post writing “the Gauntlet had been thrown and picked up.” As hoped, she responded playfully that “them’s fighting words,” and the picture-off was on!

Redditor, u/irrelevantfervor, commented on my gauntlet comment with a gif of popcorn and “I’m here for this.” Yet another Redditor, u/throwaway_asian69, commented on my rebuttal photo that he was team ice so should he post with coffee, too? Other Redditor’s taking notice gave me the idea to invite all of BGW to join us in the great coffee temperature debate! And join in you did! Seeing the community respond, post, and get playful with the event was amazing. Seeing both BGW regulars and non-alike post and other community members write comments in support was energizing and fun.

So which temperature was the most preferred?

Team Ice Cold Stunnin’ brought cool confidence and sex appeal to the game but Team Hot as Fuck relentlessly brought the heat and kept the contest steamy….in the end it was…..

!!!!HOT COFFEE!!!! (12 Redditors vs 8 for cold) Cheers to you hot coffee drinkers! I raise my cold brew to your victory. The woman of BGW have spoken and they exclusively enjoy hot coffee. I am the iced outlier, all alone, surrounded by gorgeous cold coffee drinking men (I think I’m the real winner here, wow!) Men were equally split on coffee preferences.
