I understand the argument for sitting on the TPE and waiting for next season. Our core is young and we have time to win a chip with what we have as our foundation. Plus we're definitely missing some of our core players changing the overall makeup of the team.
On the other hand, we were so close last year, and probably could have made a real run for it with a healthy Kemba and Hayward. Honestly, if we had the same Kemba from the start of the year until around All Star weekend, there's a chance we could have won.
If Kemba comes back at full health, and the Jays take another leap forward to make up some of the loss on offense from Hayward, we could definitely make a run with one more piece to cover the rest of the gap. Why wait until next year, if a chance comes along to add someone like Gordon before the deadline? I can see the Magic finding themselves outside the playoffs or at the bottom with Okeke showing the promise they expected. Unloading Gordon may sound like a good option.
